The details.
The ALPHA QM1/QM2 Injector Drivers are modern replacements for the obsolete STA460C modules found in OBD1 Honda ECUs.
The original STA460C hardware uses aging BJT (Bipolar Junction Transistor) technology, while ALPHA's replacement drivers use modern MOSFET and TVS technology.
Open source roots
ALPHA developed the first publicly documented MOSFET and TVS-based STA460C replacement, with early revisions and development work shared openly on GitHub.
Why MOSFETs
We like MOSFETs, and for good reason. Compared to traditional BJT technology, MOSFETs offer several advantages, including lower power dissipation, improved switching efficiency, and reduced heat generation.
Built and tested in-house
These drivers are entirely designed, developed, and tested in-house by ALPHA Tuning Solutions. Our bench testing has demonstrated cooler operation and faster inductive load switching compared to the original STA460C hardware.
Worth replacing
With factory injector drivers now over 30 years old, replacing these aging components is a worthwhile consideration, especially when refurbishing, repairing, or upgrading your OBD1 Honda ECU.
